Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the TOWNGRID platform and services operated by Bug Hutch Ltd (“Company”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using towngrid.io (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Service Description
TOWNGRID is an electricity intelligence platform that provides real-time monitoring, forecasting, analytics, and strategic intelligence for US electricity markets. The Service includes price forecasting, spike alerts, grid intelligence, AI demand tracking, forward curve modeling, and market analysis across 7 US Independent System Operators (ISOs).
2. AI and Data Disclaimer
Important Notice
TOWNGRID uses artificial intelligence models, machine learning algorithms, and third-party data sources to generate forecasts, predictions, and analyses. These outputs are estimates only and may not be accurate.
The Service does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, operational advice, or any form of professional recommendation. All forecasts, predictions, scores, and intelligence outputs are provided for informational purposes only.
Users are solely responsible for their own decisions. You should not rely exclusively on TOWNGRID data for critical operational, financial, or investment decisions. We strongly recommend consulting qualified professionals before making significant decisions based on our data.
3. User Accounts
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Provide accurate and complete registration information.
- Maintain the security of your account credentials.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
- Not share your account with unauthorised third parties beyond your plan's user limit.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without written permission.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data beyond permitted API access.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
5. Subscription and Billing
Plans and Pricing
The Service is offered on a subscription basis with monthly billing. Current plans and pricing are available at /pricing. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice.
Free Trials
We offer free trial periods for new users. During the trial, you have full access to the Service at your selected plan tier. No payment is charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged at the applicable rate.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except as stated in our Refund Policy. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the Service until the end of the period you have paid for.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that forecasts, predictions, or analytics will be accurate, complete, reliable, or error-free. Electricity markets are inherently volatile and unpredictable.
- In no event shall Bug Hutch Ltd, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, algorithms, models, data compilations, designs, text, graphics, and other content, is the exclusive property of Bug Hutch Ltd and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes during your subscription term. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bug Hutch Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to violation of these Terms, non-payment, fraudulent activity, or actions that harm other users or the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law shall survive termination.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
